VSCO film 02 // before + after | ohio photographer

if I was stranded on a deserted island with only three things beside me, I'd want these: my camera, my macbook, and VSCO film.

words cannot express how much I am in love with this product. from the moment their first set no. 01 came out, I was smitten. VSCO film is hands down, the best photography purchase I ever made.

(besides my camera, of course.)

and if VSCO's first set of presets weren't glorious enough, VSCO went on to outdo themselves with yet another set: no. 02.

I was so excited to use them that I stayed up till the wee hours of the morning re-editing a few photos from past shoots.

and this post is to share the results of that ;) it's quite the hodge-podge of images, I'll warn you.

all the images below you've seen before, but I've gone back through and done a slightly different editing style, using the presets from the new VSCO film pack 02.

roll over the images to see the completely untouched "before."

the VSCO film recipe I used is below the photographs for all you photographers out there who are wondering :)

//all images shot with my canon 50d. yes, I know. don't judge. if any of you want to gift me the Mark 5d III, I'd love you forever and ever. and give you free photoshoots for the rest of your life.//

  2. I just downloaded VSCO 2 and after seeing these examples I'm looking forward to trying them out. Particularly like the last one with the hairspray. Is there anything you do to tweak the RAW files first to get them ready?

  3. @Graham Nixon Photography, I apologize if you don't see this reply for awhile! I can't message you on your profile, and I can't reply to your comment directly, so you won't be notified of this response :-/ I'm sorry!

I don't do anything to tweak the RAW files, mostly because I try to get everything right in-camera. If it needs it, I definitely will play with exposure or WB, but I usually don't have to! Hope that helps :)

  4. Hi Sarah, you did a good job with this post. Which lens do you have on your 50d?

  5. Dadu, for these images, I switched between the 50mm 1.2; 1.4, and 35mm 1.4. In the description below each image, you'll find the specifics! :)

As I mentioned to Graham, I apologize if you do not see this comment for awhile. I can't reply to comments here, and the blog you have listed on your profile hasn't been active for a couple years. I will try posting this same reply on it just in case.

  6. Hi Sarah,

Thanks for the reply : ) I think the problem with the comments is the options given i.e. wordpress, Livejournal aren't all that helpful if the "commenter" is using a self hosted wordpress blogsite and a facebook page. The wordpress option only words for the wordpress.org thing, not a self hosted.

I'm rambling I can tell. Hope this helps though : )

    Graham
