cedric + mariah.
they rock the long-distance relationship like none other. he, a marine stationed in califorina, and she, a talented singer working on a dairy farm. (hence the cow hats. you'll see.) when they get to spend time together, it's beautiful. so beautiful.
mariah asked if i would photograph just the two of them together when cedric came into town for christmas. i didn't even have to blink before i said yes.
yes, yes, yes.
they'd take me out to coffee after, she said.
yes. (duh.)
we hoped and prayed and planned for sun, but no. instead, a steadily breezy, cloudy, moody, 40-some degree weather ensued. mariah was hardly shivering. i practically had to pay the arizonian-born cedric to take the blanket off.
(you thought the blanket was a cute prop? think again.)
we shot for a short thirty some minutes until my fingers couldn't operate the camera. and then we went to coffee. it was so good. but even better was the love that warmed my heart that morning. cedric and mariah, i pray only the best for your future together. as cedric prepares to be deployed, my heart goes out to you, mariah. both of you, stay strong. and remember that every day you go without seeing each other is one day closer to when you meet again.
love you both :)
I'm not one for saying pictures are cute, but #7 has to be the sweetest thing I've ever seen in my life. Awesome shoot!
