wedding // mike + karen | dayton ohio wedding photography

it was simple.  honest.  casual.  calm.  loving.  celebrated.  sweet.  anticipated.  perfect.

don't get me wrong: i love a good wedding full of a hundred diy projects, overflowing with luscious bouquets and floral arrangements, overlooking a valley in italy.  but when it comes down to it, a wedding isn't about the pretty things.  it's about the commitment of one heart to another.  a love shared and promised.  and that's what mike and karen's day was.  it was them.  simple and honest, truly a reflection of the love between them.  casual and calm, just as they dreamed and hoped for.  loving and celebrated, shown by the families that were brought together as they talked and laughed and adored.  sweet and anticipated, as any wedding should be.  perfect, because nothing added to the day could've made it better.

mike and karen, it was a joy and honor to photograph your day, and i'm so glad our paths have crossed.  you guys are the best and i love you both very much :)

(so thankful for my very good friend eastlyn who helped me photograph this wedding.  i always appreciate someone by my side, and she's one of the best for the job.  definitely check out her work, it's amazing!

** so you might be curious as to why the couple and the golf cart is included in this post.  while we were out shooting portraits in the nature reserve behind the church, they casually drove past us while exploring and then offered us a ride back to the church.  even as complete strangers they politely waited while we finished up photos, and were so excited just to unexpectedly be a part of the day.  it was so sweet ;)

location: riverview baptist church, franklin ohio
bride's dress: alfred angelo
